I have been teaching Estonian online in one-to-one lessons since September 2025, and supporting learners from A1-C1 levels every week on different platforms, with over 300 hours of teaching. I have also done intensive face-to-face courses here in the UK as taster into the language and culture.

If you would like to take lessons with me, get in touch to book directly. The lessons can be delivered in English, Welsh or Portuguese (Brazilian), potentially also Spanish/Icelandic but not as fluently.

What do the lessons entail?

The lessons are different depending on your level and your expectations.

All the lessons include a live document that is shared with you where I will write corrections, new vocabulary, and any relevant additional materials. All the lessons encourage you to speak, answer questions you have, and can include homework if you want and looking at past exams if you are preparing for an exam.

• A1-A2 – I like to roughly follow Settle Estonia A1 and A2 workbooks Tule ja õpi! and Tule ja õpi veel! or E nagu Eesti textbook. They have a good range of topics and new vocabulary and related videos/audio as well. I also use materials I have developed myself, including audio materials, written texts and exercises, and music for learning.
• B1-B2 – moving towards using more authentic materials, looking at short news stories, articles, music, podcasts etc to explore new vocabulary and expressions, and guide discussions, questions and answers.
• C1-C2 – down to your choice – exploring a variety of authentic materials, radio shows, TV programmes, books, articles, poetry, and anything of interest to you.

Where? How?

I hold one-to-one lessons using open-source platform jitsi, or alternatively Proton Meet. Neither require you to have an account and can join from browser or your phone. One lesson is 50 minutes long.

I would encourage you to book a trial lesson before committing to any series of lessons. A trial lesson last 25 minutes and is for free. During the trial lesson, we get to know each other a bit better, estimate your level and discuss a plan going forward, including any additional resources that may be useful for you. Terms and conditions:

You will have 6 months to use any purchased lessons or package of up to 10 lessons. For 15 and 20 lesson packages, you will have 12 months. Should you not be able to use up the lessons within that time, an extension can be discussed. Lesson times are flexible and you will be given a link to the calendar where to book in the sessions. Weekly/regular slots can also be arranged to reduce the variability of lesson times.

Should you wish to terminate the package before using up all the lessons, the lesson price will be calculated per individual lesson price and refund will be given for the remaining, if any is left over. For example, if you bought a package of 10 for £230, but only used up 8 sessions and want to cancel, the price of the 8 sessions will then be 8×25=£200, and the remaining £30 will be refunded.

Cancellation policy:

You can cancel a lesson free of charge up to 24h prior to the lesson start time. In this case, please contact me directly and we can discuss rescheduling/alternative lesson time. Between 12-24h of notice given, you will be refunded half the lesson time, that is, you will be able to have a lesson of 25min as an alternative, or if you have more than cancellation, combine them into an additional lesson. With notice given less than 12h ahead, no refund or rescheduling will be offered.

Most efficient contact method would be via email as communicated ahead of time, but if more direct contact is sought after, direct messaging on Signal can be arranged, however this would be to communicate lessons and attendance only.
